I'm trying to help someone who is having this problem with CPanel webmail.
Using IE6 on a Windows XP PC, User-1 can surft to
http://companyname.com/webmail and use SquirrelMail to send and receive webmail with no problem.
Using IE5 (I think) on a Windows 2000 PCUser-2 can surft to
http://companyname.com/webmail and go into SquirrelMail program, compose a new message but when the Send button is clicked, the email does not get send, that is, there is no copy of it in the Sent folder and the receipient does not get the email. The email just disappears.
User-1 can use the Win XP PC to login to User-2 webmail and send and receive with no problem, so it is not a User-2 webmail account problem.
However, if User-1 uses the Win 2000 PC, he has the same problem as User-2 as above.
So, it appears to be a problem with the Win 2000 PC.
I don't know exactly how the PCs are setup in the ofice, but I think the PCs are on a wireless network and sharing broadband connection.
I am guessing it is something to do with accessing port 2095 for webmail access. Perhaps there is a software firewall on the Win 2000 PC blocking the access? Or the firewall on the broadband router? However, as said above, User-2 can actually access SquirrelMail, but just not send out email.
Does anyone have any ideas about this problem?
TIA
