I'd like to talk a little about Exabytes Hosting. To me Exabytes seems like a reliable and responsible hosting provider. I've had experience hosting with three local hosts and I can say that none of them bothered to keep customers informed about server downtime. Their strategy is to remain silent and hope that customers wouldnt notice.

Though I'm not hosting with Exabytes, I'm familiar with their emails to customers. I'm quite impressed that they actually inform customers of schedule downtime weeks in advance. And in the event of unexpected downtime, like what happened to servers in MyLoca recently, customers are informed almost immediately. I'm sure their superior customer service and attractively priced hosting packages will make them one of the major hosting providers world wide.

Now some of you may wonder why am I plugging for Exabytes. Actually I wanted the dudes from my local hosting companies to read this and hopefully make them buck up a bit.

As to why I'm not hosting with Exabytes, here're the reasons:

- I dont like pricing tricks. Says RM149 but it's actually RM199.

- I think their servers are slow. I've not done any real tests but every time I visit this forum, I feel like pulling my hairs out bcos its so slow. Maybe it's bcos of the fancy forum software which I notice kept on making connections even when I leave it idle.

One last thing - I think their recent multi-tiered coupon marketing campaign sucks. It's not a very pleasant experience punching in codes one after another only to find out at the end that all the good coupons have "expired".
