I think there is some confusion regarding blogs. Of course blogs started out as an online diary but because of its popularity, people started developing content management systems (CMS) around it to make it easier to publish your journals.

Then some enterprising people started using these CMS for commercial purposes, writing about funny stuff, gadgets, etc.

So to nobita and morton82, I think you have different interpretations of the word "blog", hence your opinions.
