Don't do it like those 'pros' and try to create sites just to earn some fast money (you can try it later when you hv more experience - some don't even have websites, they just buy ads that links to the product page thru their affiliate code, and some create so called product 'review' or 'comparison' site, but actually all the review products are their affiliate products - and they cleverly hide their affiliate links with scripts, so ppl do not know they actually clicked on affiliate links to go to the actual product site - that's the way they earn commissions --- they don't promote other ppl's products directly, they do it the sneaky way)

Anyway, back to the topic, you should start out by developing a site around one theme/topic/interest.... learn search engine oprtimization, learn how to promote your site ---- so the basics are write lots of useful content and try to attract as much traffic as possible (if you join affiliate programs or adsense - you won't get much if you do not have traffic..... unless you are willing to buy traffic thru adwords, and that's risky for beginners)

Here is a list of basic things to do:
1. Find a topic of interest (ur hobby, work, talent etc)
2. Create your site (with SEO)
3. Add contents regularly (useful and original contents)
4. Promote your site (directories, link exchange etc)
5. Add contents regularly (useful and original contents)
6. Monetization - Promote affiliate products, Adense, banners etc etc
7. Add contents regularly (useful and original contents) -- you should get my drift now

Note that there are tricks you need to learn to do well with affiliate programs or adsense - hiding affiliate links, writing effective sales copy, adsense optimization, attracting adsense high-paying-keywords etc etc..... You'll learn that very soon

PS:
I'll give u one example of very good affiliate marketing haha... go to google and search for "web hosting review" and check out those "Sponsored Links", the so called top 10 webhosting review/comparison etc. Those sites have nothing but only so called reviews and ranking of the best web hosting companies ...... and when you want to click to visit a particular ACTUAL webhosting company, you actually click thru their affiliate link and a cookie will be set on your PC but of course you won't know because the affiliate links are "hidden", once you sign up for the webhosting, the review site will get BIG commission..... u still think they give unbiased reviews?

Btw, everytime you click on the sponsored links on Google ... the "review" site will pay abt USD22.34 ~ 27.93 to Google (nearly RM100 per click....thats the current bid and cost for advertising the phrase "web hosting review" on Google) ... they pay so much for every click yet they give free reviews and advise?? Think again! They are just trying to earn commission .. since they still exist, it seems to be a very profitable way to earn money too.
