Im
ICQ/AIM are so 10 yrs ago.
YM/MSN/Windows Live, 5 yrs ago. they are getting as bloated now just like ICQ back then (since then ICQ has trimmed down, but unfortunately, most have jumped ship by then). And I'm getting too many spams via YM and Yahoo Mail.
nowadays, I prefer Skype and Google Chat/Talk. Using Gizmo as well but not many are on it yet, plus it's a bit sluggish.
When phones/chat software want to be a many-in-one, they suck. all I need with phones/IM is to communicate well, not to get overloaded information. I can always use web browser on PC/notebook for those other things.
Anyway, today, more people seem to use social apps like Friendster (Malaysians are 20% in Friendster, the other 60% in SEA too), and Facebook is gaining ground fast. Most of my real friends are on Facebook, virtual ones on Friendster. For business, I'll stick with LinkedIn
