That is supposed to be a temporary password for your first time login. The first thing you should do after your first time login is to change the account password to something else.

While the site itself may be slow sometimes, but it could also be your own connection causing the problem.

There is a transaction history which you can check to see if there have been any account activity. Also, if you are using a simple password or one that can be guessed easily, change it to something more difficult. The site itself may be secure, but people normally use a simple password and anyone who knows you can probably guess it, like your pet's name or your car number etc. The bank or other secure sites cannot do anything about this. This is like leaving your ATM card on the table with your pin no written on a piece of paper next to it. Anyone can go access your account with that. It does not mean there is a problem with the ATM machine.
Of course, I do not know the real details, and it could be a problem on the bank's side. But sometimes it is on the user's side as well.
