You cannot prevent hoaxes. You can however be more aware and careful and not believe everything you receive or read . You can try not to fall for such hoaxes by asking others about it first, or searching about it, or calling the bank and asking about it etc etc. And don't participate in propagating the hoaxes by forwarding such emails.
