Are Malaysia Market is ready and serious for internet marketing?

Do your think malaysia is ready for internet marketing like other country today such as USA?How many people that buy and sell thing from ebay?Should we focusing our internet business at our country(malaysia) or other country such USA that really can bring profit.because i have try to focus my small biz to this country but it have low responed.Even i have good traffic at my website but it only can generate small amount profit only but compare with overseas and it is munch more better. Most of malaysia people still not ready or believe about internet such online shopping, online services etc.Malaysia market at today is more focusing about affilate program that can promise make money. For example, pay certain member fee then u can earn million ringgit at few weeks by know their secret or buy their ebook or investment. Can we believe it?I believe it is scam.Malaysia internet market today is fully with scam website(as report by ntv7).Most malaysia people is focusing and run about scam web that can easily generate profit because no seriuos and effective law can caught them. Not munch people is serious about web business.

I think the reason you mentioned about scam websites are because they are highly exposed. There are many successful internet companies in Malaysia and comparable to those in U.S.

there is no way i can deny your statement. it makes me think how bad am i always promoting affiliates in my blog. People in malaysia looks market as a fast track money place. even Im also one who think like that. Whatever internet market prospects, I always think about money.

nowdays people making more money in malaysia by telling people how much they make money online. This what happen to the bigger malaysian marketer on net. No need to say their names but this is what actually happens. people who earn in net that using hard products (not digital product) are less been entertained by visitor.

surfers are tend to buy something that can make their profitable. dun u think at the other angle of view its just some sort of scam maybe. People rich by selling product on how they can be rich but the reality is they rich by selling the product to rich. thats the scenario am i feel ashamed of me by promoting or been as an affilliates of these type or marketing.

people are now awareness to buy samting without they saw..starting to have that habit. as proof. as we can see on lelong.com.my. there are always a potential buyer about gadgets without they see the item. but what makes its not went smooth outside the lelong is mainly because of the people mindset.

just like u said. there were too much about money making than the reality of it.. i dunno lah.. maybe u guys can have a better words...nice topic ..hope can be a better discussion wide broad angle of view.

I would say overall it's pretty positive, it takes time for e-commerce (esp b2c) to develop, as it involves too many parties and too many challenges.

Challenges can be as simple as the "trust" that your e-commerce site communicate, cost effective payment solution, fulfillment (effectiveness of getting the goods ordered to the consumer's hand), government policy etc. It all matters.

But as more people getting online, and become heavily rely on Internet for work and play, you will see more biz opp sprung up online, as there's where the money is. this is 4sure.

And forget not, e-commerce, although offer convenience, competitive price etc, they are just a channel. An effective marketing channel in which, if not fully utilized to maximize the potential, you will easily find yourself on the losing side of a competitive market.

E-commerce is NOT the only way people shop. Things are moving into multi channels nowadays. Bottomline is, business will soon letting their customers buying from them regardless it's done from your iphone, your notebook, call-in or visiting their office / stores. all these multi-channel order taking capability, will drive better customer loyalty and more repeat purchase. and it will definitely make business taking internet marketing more serious than ever.

I recently went to this talk about "Ecommerce & Ucommerce", talk given by local
lecturer, He said that Malaysian Internet Market is still far from ready.

One issue that he talk about was of course, making payments online.
Majority of malaysians (from his research) are still unconfident about
purchasing online. This is because they are afraid about fraud issues mostly
related to credit card information. He said that it may take 5 to 10 years
to build that confidence.

But from my point of view, i think the market is ready. It's still in it's baby
tracks, but it's ready to grow.

I agree with you. We should educate people about scam and spam. The best
way is to run a TV ad campaign regularly.
