I need some fellow local affiliates opinions in the following questions:

what is the overall prospect and opportunities available in AM in malaysia?

Is there any affiliate network or agency in Malaysia?

Is it most affiliates focused on oversea market such as US, UK or Australia insteads of Malaysia?

Only affiliate i have seen is for web hosting.

Most Malaysian don't buy things online. Even Dell computers are being sold in Lowyat now.

I think it's a matter on what to buy. Now they don't buy, because it's not for sale online. Add to that the fact that you can still bargain in a physical shop. Add to that strolling through malls is a way of life in Malaysia. Add to that perhaps Malaysians like to 'show' others that they buy stuff.

I would still think that there are numerous opportunities in Malaysia when looking at selling and buying online. First; if you set up an online shop in Malaysia; know that many foreigners would buy there too (when prices are right). This means, AM could be used to attract traffic from abroad. Focus doesn't have to lie on locals only.

Anyways; Right now affiliate marketing sucks monkeynuts. But after Europe I still hope Asia's next. I for one would love getting to work in Malaysia (in AM )...

Malaysian afraid to bargain online because they not trust of the system. This is the taboo that people like us in IT industry have to clear this taboo.

ya.. right, the trend is not so common in malaysia, most of my sales from western country... the attitube toward online trading still fresh among malaysian.

Is quite a bit disappointing really. I can see the whole malaysia e-commerce is quite a bit behind compared even to other Asia countries such as Singapore, China, HK and Taiwan.

What is really the main reason behind such slow adaption? Is it the infrastructure or just the Malaysian community just feel quite alienated with the whole internet kind of things?

well the government must do steps to encourage more people to buy online as it still directly and indirectly help affiliate marketing as a whole..we hope they can introduce more policies

and the second thing is people said: shopingmall are more easy and faster then online shopping , did you get the point ?

but i still wish we can do it soon, it was a very simple and normal at other country. malaysia boleh? show us.

I have paid thousands of RM for bills, insurance and tax via maybank2u.

But i won't buy things online coz:
- pos malaysia might loose it and i have to go post office on working days to collect it if i'm not at home when they send it.
- things might be broken during delivery.
- except for used stuff, i can probably get it cheaper from a shop.
