Post count not showing in categories WP

I'm using wordpress 2.3.
I notice that the post count is not showing in the categories list on the sidebar

normally it will like like:

Quote:

Categories
>> Life (10)
>> Broadband (4)

but in my blog (elvinlok.com), it didn't show the post count on the category. Anyone have any ideas on this?

I tried switching to the default wordpress theme and reinstalled Wp, but it didn't show it also.. Just wondering whether this is a wordpress 2.3 bug or some settings on my part...

I've heard it has something to do with SQL.
Still didn't find the proper way to correct it.
Keep googling and tell me of you find ya.

it depends on the wordpress theme sometimes..

which theme are you using? I can install to mine see it works or not..

i use my own theme which i edited from the default one... i don't think its about the theme coz i tried to switch back to the default theme but it still didn't show... maybe i will try to upgrade to wordpress 2.3.1 later this week when time permit....
