So we do share the same problem... sometime I drop 90++ ec cards on other blogs, but get only half of it in return.
 What I normally do with the ec credits that I earned beside advertise on other blogs is give away free credits for comment drop on my blog, stumble my blog, digg my blog post....

Yeah, i do agree with you all. What we spend are not worth for the traffic return.
But try to design a LOGO which represend you and show your URL as BIG as you can. Most important is clear to represent you. Just look for expose your self, as a publicity of you. The more your ads appear in other people website, the more your publicity. IMO, people will feel curious on your LOGO and think " Why this fella logo appear in so many website" and may be they will come to view your blog.
