...if I was at home^h^h^h^h^h^h^h* in the country that issues my passport, nobody (well, maybe Hello! magazine) would be criticising M for his window-dressing. If the Malaysian net has a problem, it's excess of image and lack of content. I'm not sure that's even restricted to the online media. In my view, it's been such a long time since Malaysians had access to conflicting points of view that many of you have lost the habit of critical reading and have just been admiring the pictures. If that seems rude, it's meant to be helpful. Critical thinking is the best defence against systematic abuse.

You can criticise his style, that's popular - his international reputation is typically megalomaniac or tyrant - but he's also regarded as almost single-handedly bringing about the modernisation of Malaysia. He is one of the few Malaysians whose name used abroad won't bring the "who?" response. When he speaks or writes, there are a lot of Malaysians listening or reading. They may mostly belong to an age-group younger Malaysians might regard as irrelevant, but they wield a great deal of power.

Probably his only criterion for choosing a blogging platform was 'have I heard of it?', or 'most popular?', or 'has wealthiest owner?'. Writing a blog on an experimental host, or one with distracting bells and whistles, when his most influential readers just want to see his words would have been silly.

For an old bloke that was in charge once and still has influence, blogspot is the sensible choice.

from Pos Malaysia a while back, to explain about an osCommerce shipping module I wrote. My wife saw my difficulty and waved her hands "where got problem? Do it like this, jam-jam ah", knocking her fists into each other. She went on like that for a couple of minutes and their eyes lit up "Aah, I see, that's what you should have said!" said one of them. I didn't have a clue what she was on about.

blogspot is a pretty good platform...but dr.m sure need some experience in blogging and maybe hire some to moderate comment and unrelated chat

In my opinion, blogger is not match for wordpress in terms of quality, stability and reliability.

we all know that. Even all mine & my client blog are wordpress powered.

Wordpress's just too complicated for many of them. (the not tech savvy one)

If WordPress is too complicated for them, then I think those of us that know Joomla or Drupal can easily make a living out of this, LOL.

And I thought WordPress was too simple.

But on the topic, I think we should separate political blogs from make money blogs. I'm sure, these politicians do not blog to try to make money

I mean a typical datuk has more money in their bank account than you and me can hope to have in years, right?
