Hi,
I never really blog before and i felt quite curious about blogging. i would like to know if anyone make their own blog program instead of using customise programs sych as wordpress etc?
would it be a good idea to create my own blog program so that i could maximise the control of my blog? if so, what would be the main key feature necessary for a blog site?
i was reading about rss here and there and still didn't really get the perfect idea bout it. is it by having the code with
<item>
<title>
<link>
<description>
in every page header is already sufficient? (with updated informations of course)

Why reinvent the wheel?

Use wordpress. Wordpress provides you great customization on almost everything as if it is your own blog software.

Wordpress is a good one... But if you really want to make your own, its a good start. Try to look for a simple script first, then modify the codes and improve it when you have ideas. Then your blog will become a good blog...

I do dream on releasing it to public. But there still lots of work needed especially at admin control panel. My focus is to come out with a lightweight CMS.

Most of it, well good way to improve programming skill as well (PHP, MySQL, SOAP, AJAX, XML, XHTML & CSS all in one). I do use TinyMCE text Editor for blog entry (most blogger who use WordPress 2.0.+ would be familiar with).
