to act as agent of the Government and to provide services in administering, collecting and enforcing payment of prescribed fees or any other charges under the Intellectual Property Legislation;.

to regulate and supervise issues or matters relating to intellectual property in relation to the Intellectual Property Legislation;. .

to advise on the review and updating of the Intellectual Property Legislation;. .

to encourage and promote the training and the diffusion of knowledge and information on intellectual property;.

to hold, encourage and provide co-operation programme at national or international level on intellectual property issues or matters;.

to safeguard the interest of Malaysia in respect of any agreement or international convention to which Malaysia is a party, and shall to the extent necessary give effect to any provision of such agreement or convention;.

to advise the Government on developments at international level on issues or matters relating to intellectual property;.

to carry out research and to commission studies on issues or matters relating to intellectual property;.

to advise the Minister generally on issues or matters relating to intellectual property; and.

to carry out such activities and do such things as administration of the Corporation, or for such other purposes, consistent with this Act, as may be directed by the Minister.

But this works only if the thief use BOT to copy the whole content.If not,the thief might remove the <script src> part

I wonder if this can be done in real life. :-/

why don't you just disable the RSS?

RSS = Really Simple Syndication. By enabling the RSS you're sydicating your content.

If people "copy" your content even after disabling your RSS, now you can shout 'thief!'.

Plus, you may put terms of use for your RSS. Like, your feed is only for personal use and not for reprint (electronically or conventionally) unless with permission.

What if i copy famous quotes from a website which host a compilation of famous quotes by (mostly now) dead people?

Must i give credit to the website? Did they ever asked permission from those they quoted? for example like Churchill, ***** or Muhammad?

What about game "cheat codes"? Most cheat code sites contents are user contributed.

For your own site, with your own content, your own article, i propose you make your standing clear on your sites about how you want your intellectual property be treated by. but be carefull, over do it and people will be intimidated and scared to quote you, give em some leeway. in the end you might lose referrals. it's the INTERconected NETworks after all, can't do without the others.

and it's CopyScape, not copySpace. And it's kinda expensive.

I do know about CC, GNU etc. One of the site i mentioned above are definitely not using CC ... bits and pieces of contents from other commercial sites are pasted together.... and no credits are given. (i checked em out manually)

Another one just repost articles from all over the web, some with attribution some none.

I did not jump to conclusions

... I've been writing for years and dealt with copyright issues, fair use policy etc etc ...... but the bottom line is, there's no point using contents from others en bloc even if it's permitted ...duplicate contents dont add any value to the web

I guess that's called splog or spam blog..it's bot..it's used in blackhat world and RSS2B4 is one of the softwares used to automatically pulled excerpt from other blogs..I used to be bombarded by this kind of shyt..luckily it's already stopped

Another ideal which is hard for someone to copy you.Create your story into images and added it with watermark of your website name. Nobody can copy through this unless they go and clean your watermark for the whole day.

also do note tat there are bloggers who just quote quote quote from other blog.they write really little and mostly quote from people. Ive got some people who did that to my blog..really wonder why they even bother doing that.
