Which blog software to use?
Please give some suggestions on a good and lite blog software. I'm planning to run a blog section (the blog is NOT going to be the main site content) ...... it's going to be something like http://www.mydomain.com/blog or http://blog.mydomain.com.
I'm leaning towards WordPress .... but is there anything else? Anyone running WordPress on Linux Shared Hosting? Any problems on server load, as I think WordPress doesn't support page caching to lighten the server load rite? Last edited by yonghs; 05-05-2007 at 06:23 PM. |

http://yourdomain.com/blog/ is definitely preferable.
I never had any overloading issue as Wordpress is quite a lightscript. Just don't install any bloated plugin and you will be alright. And yes, there's a plugin called WP-Cache to improve your visitors navigation speed. |

I haven't implemented any custom blogging system.

wordpress is the best cms i ever use. i had tested drupal, mambo, and some other cms available that i think is good to make a blog, but for me, wordpress is the best. and many bloggers and expert bloggers use wordpress too. even adverlets.com also use wordpress.

Thanks guys ... it's WordPress then.
I've never used CMS for any of my sites ... I prefer to build everything from scratch for my main content's layout ... but now I want to add a small blog section, so intstalling WordPress seems to be the easiest way. |
