Oh... I saw my name.

Anyway, what Cognigens said was right, you don't need to pay extra for getting a short name.

I guess I was the 1st one who successfully registered the 1-character domains. I used to owned domains like "1.com.my", "3.com.my", "8.com.my" but due to my financial problem back in year 2001. I got to give up most of it.

Now I only left "a.com.my" & "x.com.my" to be convert to "A.MY" & "X.MY".

But, again... short name might not be a good name. As we can see... Chrisgoh can really make money with his super long domain name. And I'm just keeping all these name for collection. Damn! This is a very expensive hobby for me.

I think the "approval" that "Cognigens" mean is... The approval for "2nd Level .MY Priority Entry Period".

Anyway, MyNIC just reject one of my Application for "WEB.MY". I owned "Web.com.my" and surprise to see that "Web.net.my" is registered earlier then me.

Em~~~ As for other .MY domains. I think besides the .gov/.edu & some sensitive names, you don't need any approval. I used to owned a sensitive domain name - "Adult.com.my" back in 2000. But later MyNIC just not allow me to renew it and you know why...

I always think that a good .COM is still what everyone is looking for. If I have a choice, I'll register a .COM before the others. But... Lately, most of the good name had gone. So... People start getting creative for some other domain names that look cool. One way of getting these cool names is to "HACK THE DOMAIN". Few of the famous "HACKED DOMAINS" are "i.am", "blo.gs" & "del.icio.us".

I started the game few years back and had registered a few names which I think are cool!

- petaling.st
- mid.st

And... I'm trying for "chum.my" right now.

Anyway, below is a list of hack domain names that might give you some idea how to hack the .MY.
