With the introduction of the 2nd level .my domain name registration, do you think more people will be attracted to the new .my domain vs the .com.my or .net.my etc domains?

With the .my priced at max RM120, do you think it will be popular? Or will more people now go for .com.my at max RM80, which is now a smaller price gap away from .com which is normally around RM40-55?

for my opinion,it just shorten the URL, not much different. Since every one already familiar with .Com.my, suddenly a URL with only .my, some how people mis type...

on the other hand, shorten URL worth more then longer one... it bring benefit too...

if you compare www .google. com.my with www .google. my sure 2nd URL more shorter

Case 2
if you companre www google .com with www. google .my, again second URL shorter

jaring.my is one of the website that using .my domain.

AFAIK, only jaring.my had .my extension from the beginning, maybe 15 years or so ago. They were the pioneers in Internet here. Now .my is open to others as well.

because i used to type only ---> google + (Ctrl + Enter) tadaaaa.. ,

the dot com already in the end and the www auto in the front :P


Anyway.. example.. if i already had blablabla .com.my , then i just leave blablabla.my ..
So does .com.my vs .my considered 2 different domain?

such a waste, paying both of it..
why not they just automatically convert the dot com .my to .my ? ok.. there's dot net one, dot org in another side too.. but who should be blame on this?

The selling of .my doesnt benefits us much.
.my will not open new chances to .com.my late comer (those who didnt register premium or nice domains)
As current .com.my owners will have the priority to register .my.
Its quite obvious Mynic and domain registrars are the one who will benefits.
Pre-registration for current .com.my owner started 1-Nov , which i estimate 5,000 to 10,000 .my domains will be registered.
RM120 x 5,000 = Rm600K
RM120 x 10,000 = RM1.2 Million
I will let you do the counting....

Ya, darn nice way for em to make more money .. "scamming" the .com.my owners to register an extra .my domain just to protect their domain names... and we can't even jump in and get the nice names until next year, which, by then, there will be none left.
