Malaysia Domain Company - 22-03-2008, 10:27 AM

I am looking to buy a domain name with the local company. Currently I have visited exabytes.com.my with RM55 per year with my .com domain name.

Does any one of you know if there is a cheapest one out there and reliable
Thanks...

You can find a list of ICAN accredited registrars from here:
InterNIC Registrar Listing
You can visit the various registrar websites and find one that suits your budget.

It is unlikely you will find a third-party company who offers the same or lower prices than what you can get directly from certain registrars. You must remember that these companies need to make some profit as well. That is why you normally see prices probably in the range of eg RM35 - 55 or so. After all they are providing a service for you and you need to pay for that and they need to cover overheads etc.

mine was actually with exabytes itself because my hosting is there also. So i think for myself is better to have both together

wat i know frm godaddy is tat it doesn't allow urself to manage a lot of things, creating sub-domain for the url is one of them.

Actually it is more advisable not to have your domain and hosting with the same company (unless its free of course). This is because the domain will still be in the hands of the host if you cancel your hosting. Many cases has happened.

Creating subdomain is done in your web hosting control panel, not domain control panel.
Godaddy is a good registrar, but a horrible host, at least as far as I'm concerned.

Do you mean you didn't find any useful info on the page? Or the link did not work?

The link works for me:
InterNIC Registrar Listing

And registrar by countries:
InterNIC - Registrar List

This normally happens if you are with a non-reliable or fly-by-night kind of host. There should be no problem having your domain with your host otherwise. When you register yur domain, you should be the registrant of the domain.

Free domains given by host are mor likely a problem. Sometimes these free domains are registered under the host's name, not yours, since they will say you didn't pay for it anyway. Then if you cancel your hosting account, you may not get that domain back. Or they will give you a free domain for a year, then charge you a higher price for renewal.

For malaysia company, normally the selling price are from RM35 to RM55. Depend on which company you buy from.

Mostly branded and stable company they will sell a bit higher price, but still have people buy it due to trust.
