Registering domain names

When I register a domain name, I want the info about registrant, administration, contact, billing and technical to show my own details.

However, since I don't have a credit card, I want to use my friend's credit card to make the payment. During the registration process, I need to give my friend's credit card details including credit card billing address.

Does this billing address have to be the same as the billing address in the domain registration details above?

TQ

Thanks for reply.

Ok. So, payment details and domain details does not need to be the same.

From what I read in some domain registrr's websites, I usually have to creat a login account (free) with my details. Then I login and register a domain and it will use my account info automatically. That's ok, then I pay using my friend's credit card.

Now, let's say I have another friend who wants to also register a domain. He does not have a credit card either. . If I login into my account and register his domain, his domain info will have my account info, which is not what we want.

So, do I have to create another separate login account (free) for him with his details, then register his domain for him? Payment will be done using my other friend's credit card too.

TQ

no, you do not need to create another separate login account.

You can still use your account to register your another friend's domain name. After registered your friend's domain, login the domain control panel(I assume you get this) and change domain details to your friend's(if your friend dun want to see your info in his/her domain's info ).

That's it.

Thanks for reply.

So, the process seems to be that I can register more than one domain using my own login account and then change my friend's domain details after that.

But I guess this means that my friend will not be able to do the changes on his own, for example, if he changes his address etc since then I will have to give him my login account username and password, right?

Why I got confused was because one registrar replied to my enquiry as follos. This is only part of the reply.

...You also can put either party as the owner, however please note any changes to ownership contact info will cost $7.95, ...

Of course I don't want to pay extra just to make the changes, so I am asking all these questions.

TQ

they charge for ownership transfer after the domain is registered.

Perhaps you need to register separate account for your friend and register domain name for him, in this case.

Well, Are you Malaysian? There are local companies accept bank in fund transfer.
