Don't get CHEATED by YAHOO Domains! READ before you think of buying form them!

About 6PM yesterday I decided to try my first domain purchase with yahoo which was a .ORG extentsion domain name. They advertised the price as USD 2.99, well it's pretty cheap so I paid by CC online.

The worst thing is they've got hidden charges. USD 2.99 is about MYR 11.40. When I checked my online banking account which my CC is tied to I found out a MYR 15.23 last charged. I called up my bank immediately requesting for the last charged amount and by whom. The bank told me that yahoo billed me USD 1.00 and USD 2.99 separately.

I've emailed yahoo customer support already and till now it's more than 12 hours there's no reply from them on any explanation where did the USD 1.00 came from. I'm pretty sure it's a hidden charges. As in the bill and invoice they issued to me it's only stated USD 2.99.

Another thing is their activation for domain is so hell long... If your in webhosting business you would know customers all want immediate domain name activation. Luckly I didn't tried it out on my customer's domain. I was making a personal domain purchase for my upcoming project. It has been more than 15 hours already and I still can't access my domain control panel to make changes for the nameservers.

DAMN YAHOO! Tell your friends all about their hidden charges and super slow activation and bad customer support!

1 USD = MYR 3.8X
MYR 15.23 = 3.99 - 4.01 USD
USD 2.99 = MYR 11.35 - 11.37

But exteremely slow activation not recommended if your customer looking immediate activation.

I've granted them permission to investigate into my account already. Now waiting for their second reply. On why my domain is already activated and why I can't use the domain control panel.

that true, we allows promise customer instant activation but yahoo take hours to get domain activated

activation could be slow because they have too many customers to serve (since it's too cheap)

anyway, being the 1st level domain name reseller is better than purchasing it from someone else and making you the 2nd party. customer wait for you, you wait for yahoo..

webnic.cc calls me non-stop lately i suppose many got the same calls to be their reseller partner. it's a 1st level reseller where you can register domain name in just minutes. good for those still seeking for affordable domain name reselling status.

web.cc is not that cheap compare to my current registrar.

just like to let you guys know that, after reading this post i decided to take a risk to buy a domain name from yahoo.

I placed the order at 7.30pm MYT, and i received their reply on 8.18pm MYT on the same day. it was took about 1 hr for the activation. As for the domain control panel, i can access it without any problem, below are some snapshots:

even though there's a $1 "hidden" charge, $3.99 is cheap for individual sale.
