Domain Redirect Q&A
Hi all,
i have some question wanna to ask here about domain redirect here is my situation, i hv sign up a free hosting with a free domain such as www.calvyn.byethost.com and i have buy domain which is www.calvyn.com i know that can redirect the buy domain to free domain, but the question in my mind is when visitor click on my buy domain and redirect it to free domain, the domain apear in visitor web browser is buy domain or free domain????? then my second question is can the free domain redirect to buy domain?such as i using www.calvyn.byethost.com..soon i will upgrade to buy domain and have my own hosting if i hv budget, can visitor click on my free domain and redirect the visitor to my buy domain??

If ur have enable URL-redirection (or URL forwarding), then when the user click on ur buy-domain, they will be forwarded to free-domain.
which domain address will appear on the visitor browser depends on which method of URL redirection u r using. There are 2 modes, cloaking (masked) or unmasked. For masked method, the address in browser won;t change. the unmasked one, it will change. U have to check with the free domain hosting companyif the free domain allow you to redirect to ur buy-domain. I doubt they will allow it.

 ok..i then how bout sub domain redirect? when i type in my sub domain www.blog.calvyn.com can it redirect to my blog at bloogger? iCalvyn

I'm assuming you already setup the NAMESERVERS (NS) in your domain control panel to point to your paid hosting NS.
Login to your hosting control panel (Cpanel). There's a menu called "Subdomain" there. Add your subdomain, in this case add the word "blog". Then setup the redirection (URL of your website, in this case the URL to iCalvyn) Quote:
