Thread: How to register for a domain name?

Hi all~ I am about to become a freelanced web designer, but there are several questions which I need to ask (please forgive me if they sound stupid ).

How shall I register a domain name for a company? Do I need to have any kind of contact with local telephone company etc? Or, I just have to register for one domain name in websites such as Apply.com - domain name, web site hosting, registration, email ?

If you need to register .com.my or any kind that have .my after, you will be required to send/fax some document to MyNic to be eligible register it. If you just need a global one, let say .com just go to namecheap.com and put the domain you want, your detail and pay with credit card/paypal. Yes. Only local registrar domain name (Mynic) would require supporting documents for registration:

.com.my -> require company registration document
.name.my -> require personal identification
