Exclamation yahoo, but no so good...

great promo price. (i've myself got one a year ago, and transfered away ok to other registrar just recently. but was a bit late tho since i realized its expiration to close to expiration date, so, had to pay the hefty $9.95 for 2nd year - win some, lose some, but overall, decent saving).

but is $1.99 that good?

good yahoo's features:-
1. 12-hr live toll-free (US/Canada only) number
2. starter web page
3. forwarding, DNS, locking

NON-INCLUSIVE of the following otherwise free features:
1. free private registration (costs $9 extra)
2. email (cost $34.95/yr extra, or $19.99 with )
3. complete hosting ($100+/year)
4. blog hosting
5. for sale page

Let's see, a saving of $5, but to get everything, it's cost you $100+ extra.

or say:

1. domain with private registration = $9 + 1.99 = $10.99 (fuyoh!)

2. domain with blog/hosting = ~RM7.5 + RM50+ = RM57.5+

Well, maybe yahoo's $1.99-first year offer is not so good after all. And you can't buy more than one domain!

not sure about yahoo's terms, but to be safe, make sure you transfer away no less than 30 days prior to expiration date because the transfer process itself could take as long as a full week.

oh yeah, some words of caution: before getting onto deals like this for domains, make sure the registrar doesn't charge anything for transfer. there are registrars that do charge like $35 for that!

btw, i also sell .com at $1.99, and NO LIMITS -- just need accompanying non-domain products like web/shop/podcast/blog/email/fax hosting, online storage/photo/calendar, ssl, merchant account, servers etc, also at rock-bottom prices, ie. SSL @ $19.95 (cheapest out there, I think or can anyone suggest cheaper for a full-year -- not the 90-day trial ones). yes, at a lost but I thought it's needed to acquire new business. (not a trick where you charge higher for other products, and give domain away at a loss or for free). anyone could use our service (nearly nine years in domain business now), do buzz me.

Arrow international voice

hmm.. i just thought that this discouragement from dialing an international number especially US/Canada or UK should be way past us by now. we're doing business on a global scale now and no longer restricted to selling things only to our neighbors, town people or even to the whole malaysia, but to anywhere. we're indeed buying things offshore as well.

after all, calling to US and many other world destinations can actually be CHEAPER from say making calls within a prepaid mobile network or using fixed TM line from penang to KL!! And I'm not talking about VoIP (which would translate to free calls to 8** US numbers or well under 10-cent/minute for most other world destinations), but using regular mobile or fixed line phone.

PLUS, voice support is actually a good thing -- you'd normally get things resolved fast (usually immediately), instead of going thru so many possible problems by opting 100% online support -- emails could get lost, late replied, misunderstanding due to lack of details or uncomprehensible language/communication tone etc. I'm all for voice, compared to email, text-chat or SMS, although having all of these available would be complimenting to each other.

Not providing voice support on the other hand would be a very bad thing. You wouldn't want service provider for your business to be not available for immediate support once an urgent need came up or when you just have lots of info to deliver and obtain. typing might take just too much time (and many back-to-back correspondences that could take up to many days)!

no offence, but just commenting on a general issue.
