What's holding e-commerce adoption in Malaysia?

Hi there,
I just found this forum from exabytes. I was once an e-commerce webmaster using oscommerce back in 2004 selling mobile phones. During that time, I was using paypal as a payment gateway and got several transactions but.......double conversion is just killing it. RM to USD and back USD to RM.
Furthermore, I just asking around if someone wanted USD in my paypal account, crazy.
So, back to my questions, anyone got ideas why is that so? I always doing transactions online, be it hosting payment through worldpay, domain payment at US website, ebay, maybank2u, lelong, etc.

Is Malaysian not IT savvy enough to try out online shopping?

Are we waiting for petrol price to jump to RM3 per liter?

Or Klang Valley choked with traffic congestions?

One of my ideas are:
Piggyback online shopping with famous brand like Motorola, Nikon. These brands eliminate one of the main problems of online shopping which is trust.

actually...to my humble opinion, it's actually a CREDIBILITY issue !!

So how you gonna build yours is an important step
