clearing 2CO check in malaysia
Hi guys,
i have signed up for a 2CO account and expecting my first check soon... Some questions to ask 2CO users in Malaysia : 1) how long does it take for 2CO to send the check to us from US ? 2) how long does the bank take to clear 2CO check (HLB, SBB or etc)? 3) I have asked HLB and they say no additional charges clearing the check but some of them said i need to pay a lot for the service. So, do i have to pay any fees to clear 2CO check in local bank ? 4) what is the fastest way to clear 2CO check ? please advise. thanks |

1. Check take pretty long. About a week even though they are using courier services.. actually they take days to sign your cheque
![]() 2. Bank Wire is instant. As long as your swift code is correct. You will receive it within 2 working days maximum. They're safe & fast and I'm use that method ![]() 3. Bank do charge some charges for clearing overseas check. The case now is they are buying your cheque based on FOREX exchange rate. So USD should be 3.7 plus a little commision depends on the bank. Won't be a lot ![]() 4. The fastest way to clear your cheque is to sell it to your bank Asap.

Any bank in Malaysia buys TT. See the fee structure in 2CO for wiring in your fee: http://support.2co.com/deskpro/faq.p...&articleid=127
Ask your bank for their Swift code. Maybank for example is MBB EMY. Call your bank to clarify I don't know what is a swift code but TT is an encrypted message that will be sended to your bank. Maybe it is to identify which bank it is. And as far as i know That message has message to decrypt it.. banks stuff. don't ask me

The meaning of TT is Telegraphic Transfer. It means that the bank will actually just send a telegraphic message to your bank and put the money into your bank account directly.
The bank will actually deal with each other after that. It's the safest, fastest and easiest way of sending and receiving money if you are overseas.
