Thread: Paypal Debit/Credit card accepting malaysia?

I logged in to my account last 2 days i saw the advertisement to apply the paypal debit/credit card.

I havent done yet since i wanted to know the fees and etc if it charge higher than the current rate that i have withdraw through my US bank. Probably i will just ignore it

but is it confirm paypal allowed malaysian to apply debit/credit card?

if that is true which mean they are allowing malaysian to withdraw their $$$

by the way, your paypal account(not your bank acc), is it registered as with malaysia address or overseas one?

er so can malaysians apply?

One of the requirement:

Have linked a bank account to their PayPal account and verified control of the bank account

Don't think PayPal can link to our local bank yet.

here is my situation (but if you are different scenario than i am you may try to apply it..just wanted to share what i have been went through)...my paypal is verified malaysia account and meet all the requirement like it have been stated:-

* Upgrade to a Premier or Business PayPal account (yup i owned a premier account)

* Have a Verified status by completing PayPal's Verification process (done all that, verified my cc and also my us bank account)

* Have registered a credit card where the monthly
statement is sent to a physical street address (not a P.O. Box) (Yup not p.o box but my real address)

* PayPal account must be open for 60 days (owned paypal account more than 90 days)

* Be an active PayPal member in good standing (yes i do, once i received email of survey or dispute, i answered as soon as possible to deal with paypal...i have transaction almost daily)

but it isnt good enough...here is the responsed that i received directly from paypal representative:-

Dear **snip**,

Hello my name is Carrie, I will be happy to assist you with your
question regarding your PayPal account.

We are sorry to inform you that the PayPal Debit Card is available to
users who have a U.S. PayPal account.

Since your account is Malaysia account, we are sorry to inform you that
you cannot request Paypal debit card.

Sorry for the inconvenience that may cause you.

PayPal community.

Verdict:-

Solution still remain the same, apply a US bank account, get the dc and withdraw it through your local bank. thats what i have been doing (if you unable to fly to singapore to open a bank account there)

if you are refering to the US bank account, I guess she must be using a debit card like accent which has a US bank account

gee.. sorry for the missing info... actually i refering to US bank account as in bank located in the US. I'm interested to know how can we open an US Bank Acc without flying or swimming to US ourself.

oh no no of course not, i cant even fly to singapore to open an account there and its impossible for me to fly to US...heh

i'm unsure with others, i heard most of malaysian using this method to withdraw $$$ mostly by using accentcard/anonymous card but i can not retrive back the link that i read it somewhere stated paypal will block you using those anonymous debit card available outhere...its abit risky in my opinion

thus i turned to NY bank which work out for me (especially you dont even need a passport verification just your MYKAD will do)
