Direct merchants and 3pps

Hello.I need to obtain some information about e-commerce. I am interested in derect merchant accounts and 3pps. Need to find out the figures - common percents for those two, for high risk and standard business.

emm.. i'm abit confused on the term direct merchant account and 3pps...

does direct merchant account mean you directly link to the banking online facility instantly to process all your online credit card transaction??

what is 3pps mean? does it the mean the same with 3rd party payment gateway services/processor like paypal??

Thx for these links Genzy. in the article it is written "The second is the percentage fee which is a proportion of each credit card transaction depending on your total volume of sales. It is inversely proportional to the sales volume." May be it is a stupid question but what percentage fluctuation of this fee takes place? I want to know some figures.

2 iamfreelancer: "Direct merchant credit card is a special banking account used for handling the income from credit card deals"
3pps-third party processors. As i know they are good for high-risk business (porn, drugs, gambling). Paypal is a well known example. But there are some others.

So what percentage fee takes place when the sales volume is nearly 500.000 dollar for high-risk and standard business?

i guess nobody could answer your question on the rates as is differs from each service provider..

direct banking merchant in malaysia here usually set a about 2-5 percents and prices are differents among banks and card types(eg. visa, master, amex)... if you have over 500K transactions monthly i guess you can call-up the bank manager and ask for a better prices then...

for 3rd party processor... usually its clearly stated in their website. Like paypal you can see it here Fees - PayPal
again.. most of the reputable 3pp like paypal, worldpay, 2co, authorize.net don't support high risk biz like selling replicas, porn, gambling, drugs related, mlm, and ponzi scheme....

i guess we would have to left you without answer... i think you should check with your local bank for more info on the rates...
