What do you expect more from this forum?

Hello fellow members,

I have joined this forum for almost 1 year. In the process, I have witness some of the changes, the emergence of the new members as well as becoming more active along the way.

So here's my questions to all the members that are reading this thread, why do you join this forum in first place, and what do you expect more from here?

Would it be to learn how to setup and run a successful website?

Or, getting the latest insider tips on how to make money online?

Or simply to get to know more of the people with the same interest?

Whichever it is, I'm very eager to hear your answer.

This is n honest 'feedback' thread, which will impact the future direction of this forum

i joined this forum at January 2007. At that time i just finish doin my beta version of pjss2.net (which is now currently is down for revamp), when i was searching for places to get opinions on the site, found this forum thru google. So i joined here by the initial thoughts of just getting opinions for the site.

However, in the meantime of waiting feedbacks i browse around the forums and found out there are lots of interesting and useful topics were being discussed. So the interest of participating the forum more had gainned, and from that day on, everyday i will sure drop by this forum to either gain information or help those whom i can help. Until now, my motive of being part of this forum has not change, which is:

"Gaining Knowledge, Update the web related trend, as well as Helping the others who need help"

However, until last month due to my connection superb performance, i can't really surf the forum that often anymore

well.. i joined in 09/05 but only become active somewhere in the late of 06...
to be honest... the reason that get me here in the 1st place in yr 05 is to spam with my ads . Yes!, you are right, that wasn't working at all... .
and in yr06 i started participate really honestly and that pays off coz there are certain amount of traffic to my web from here....

since then, i changed my mind to honestly participate in each thread that i interested in and try to help others as much as i can. In the process of this, i also learn quite a handfull of tricks in web development, making money on webs, way to drive traffics and current trends in internet. Oh not forget having some fun here by waging some controversial yet controlled hot debate and participate in some nonsense post......

but what i feel the most gain to me is i can practice my written english too... although my english stills sucks now....

the bottom line.... "if you truely and sincerely help others to get what they wanted, you will eventually get the things you wanted too"

i join this forum at jul 2006, just after i graduate...that time i plan to make some simple website and looking to host it up... by googling,i found WMM

in this forum, i really learn a lot of thing from basic to setting up the whole website and buying my 1st domain. Thank to those who advice me before

I hope more and more member will contribute to this forum, what i can see, active member are not much...

Intriguing question. I'm a newbie and "HI" to all seniors. Just registered 12/07. My purpose here is quite simple:

"To gain, to experience hands-on and to accumulate knowledge."
A process of "time" as a factor.

I'm running a website for my customer. Sigh. I have no PHP/ASP/ASPX/MySQL background or whatsoever web programming mentioned in my skill. None.Zip.Zero.

My friend just dump it to me an expect I know everything. This is my purpose.To find out whatever knowledge I can accumulate, what I can achieve. I almost took it for granted and eventually I need to know the way around on managing a website.

Any good tutorial for running a website? What about CMS. How to install? Is it a breeze for installation? What's the requirement? WHy do I need PHPAdmin or MySQL? Shared hosting or dedicated hosting? See? These are the basics that I need to find out.

Wish me luck. And I hope registering with WMM might be a key to explore and gain knowledge and with some help, comments, advise and tips plus tons of tutorial. Now I need to explore about CMS. Sigh. The task is unbearable.

Please show me the path. I almost crack my brain to pieces. Partially just glued some with gam Cap Gajah.

hi i just started to be active since last month, wmm is a great place for malaysia web designer/developer improve themselves.

here is my humble opinions:
i expect...
-more ppl willing to share their knowledge / experience here ie provide some useful resource,share some time saving tricks(or even tutorial!) etc, not only giving advice to 'how-to', 'help!', 'help me see this website'.
-more ppl joining this community!
i dont like...
-the online money making stuff.

I find this forum need to discuss more on issues that deal with Malaysian webmasters, rather than global Web issues. Singaporeans are also welcome to join in.

Because global Web issues we can find more from other forums. But things like virtual office, paypal, Nuffnang, Advertlets, scams, local ecommerce, meetings/get-togethers... etc...why not focus more on these?

And please reduce the "make tons of money" spam posts here, you and me know it is not so easy to make $XXXXXX, otherwise everyone would be doing it....

Webmastermalaysia is a place where webhoster meets up and give opinion. Like webhostingtalk.com.my (which already dead, sigh).

However, I already give this suggestion to webmastermalaysia but it seems that they do not do anything, well this is their forum.

Actually many webhoster lurking around here but do not want to really give knowledge due to heavy advertisement from exabytes. It is good that exa make this forum, hat off to them, but putting heavy ads in forum will make other competitors reluctant to contribute to the community. It is because they might feel that exa will get all the credits.

Webhostingtalk.com.my last time does not have ads from the hoster that hosted it. It become a NEUTRAL place to discuss and sharing the knowledge.

This is just my personal opinion as a competitor in webhosting business.
