minimum posts to post link won't stop spammer -

I tried adding a link in a Introduction thread, but was informed that I need a minimum of 5 posts to be able to post a link.
Is this to defeat spammer? If it is, then it won't work. Spammer can just randomly post up to 5 "spam" posts, and then proceed to spam the whole forum with "spam" links...
Admin, please go check the Introduction section, how many new threads with 0 replies in them? How are new members supposed to really introduce themselves without being able to post a link to their blog or site? This forum is not friendster or myspace, are we supposed to post all our photos and our interest and full profile in the Introduction section and only then expect people to reply to our thread?
Well, I don't want to be too critical yet for I do not know the real reason behind this ruling, hope to receive a decent explanation soon....
Heh I didn't realise that there's this rule, but 5 posts is really no big deal. Other forums need to have at least minumum 20 posts in order to post links, which I think is too stringent.
the spammer actually don't care bout the signature... they just spam and our non-stop hardworking mod here will delete and delete and delete and delete and.....
i think its more to ward off those seo guy that just do 1 post by say "i glad 2 be here...." then gone forever but he can leave a 1 way back link in their website via the signature....
yalah.. since you voice it out... then maybe the admin will start consider raising the minimum post limit... hehehe....
i still see some spam here, already exist for few days... "Mamak stall" still have
give the mod a break also loh.... sometimes the forum got spammed during the time when mod is not around mah.... i can see most of the spam post is removed from time to time..... keep up the good work man...
