the moderators actually did their very best to delete them, mysticmind is one of them who always deleting it, however there are just too many spammers. As far as i know some actions were taken to prevent URL spamming such as setting up the minimum post before anyone could post a URL. Still no good...

maybe the account registration there we could do something on the registration process so that it won't be so easy to become a member of this forum. Will email verification helps?

Thats not a good idea. If registering is such a troublesome process, we will have a small cummunity since we don't have mew member joining us because the registering process sucks

What we can do is to form a group of moderator or the existing one, and assign this task to them which is to monitor the spammers, give the spammers some warning, or perhaps bann their ip address!

Cheers...

ya i know tat would somehow not encouraging becoz will have lesser new user, but if that person is realy willing to register to become a member, i dun think he will resist such small verification process and to think of we can get the targeted members to be here

Sorry to ask this
Why do you need email verification for registration?
People can easily create 10 or 20 email from mail services, like a fake email address!

Verifying their email doesn't stop them from SPAMMING the forum
What we can do, IMO is to capture their IP address (I am sure vBulletin have this feature/Mod). If they are CONVISTED to be SPAMMING the forum, just give them warning that will leat to banned for life if they still SPAMMING the forum

Cheers...

Don't forget there are lots of SPAMBots which most of them cannot pass through email verifications...
