How bout a Webmaster Malaysia Gathering?
Hello Guys,
I'm thinking of organized another gathering for our fellow webmasters in Malaysia. This time, I'm hoping for a participant around 20-30 ppls at least and try to get sponsors for freebies, and free drinks. If everything goes well, I'm even going to get some press for additional exposure. I'm looking to do it on September or August so that we still have time to promote it. But till now, everything is still in the drafting stage, so feel free to chip in.

Ok. Here's a few details of it (from your responses, and some things that i've worked out) :
- The gathering will likely to be at weekend, in Penang. - Venue would probably be in Starbucks, E-gate. - Exabytes will sponsor this event. - We will do it in August. Guys, please give more suggestions and if you can/cannot attend, drop a comment here

aug ar...i m goin for vacation during the last week of aug ler
 hopefully it did not falls on those days..any idea what will be the gathering's motive be? just meet up? discuss plans? outing? or?

I live and work in kl... but travel up to penang for work once in a while.. so i may be able to drop by... won't be around on first week of august... and also it would be great to have some itinery rather than just eat and talk
 maybe can get some guest speakers to talk about website design, making money on the net, latest design trends... and even software demos by CS3 distributors / reseller companies?... just a suggestion

yep.. like wilfred said.. its better to have something rather than just simple chit chat gathering any senior or taiko wanna contribute anything to dis event?

alright, cool limcs, I'll definitely come if its in Penang, if its other state then need a little planning, yeah an itinerary would be good, maybe we can go bowling or something instead of just sit at starbucks the whole time? Some information sharing would be good as well, but if want to have formal talks and speeches then starbucks isn't really a suitable place. let's all help to promote this event

After thinking about it... formal speakers about website stuff would make it a seller to me... I'd definitely turn up... but if it was just a meet and greet... i may not put so much priority in it for the event.... (i'd love to meet you guys, but 8 hours drive kl > penang > kl is tiring...)

yeah, but then we'd need speakers and a proper venue, can we afford that much limcs? it would be rather interesting to have talks as well actually, and would be more attractive for people to attend too.

How about taping the whole thing and putting it online for those who can't make it? (only if the gathering has got talks, product demos and stuff... cause it would be kinda boring watching people drink starbucks and chit chat....)
