In this role you will be working to support customers who’ve outsourced the management of their IT infrastructure to HP. You will be responsible for defining, implementing and delivering operational services to outsourcing accounts on time, on target and on budget, working from pre-sales through project management to sign-off and ongoing support. You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with the operations manager on multiple projects.

On a day to day basis you will provide remote 3rd level incident management services and act as a subject matter expert by providing technical guidance in the event of any service escalations. Maintaining clear documentation will be a key part, everything from incident logs and case notes through to the maintenance of documentation libraries. You’ll need to be pro-active and regularly analyze data at your disposal to help drive improvement in quality and productivity of services.


You will be used to working to strictly governed service levels (SLA’s) and following defined processes and Incident Management guidelines.

Qualifications
Troubleshooting and resolving firewall, WAN, LAN, DNS, caching and network security issues
Administering TCP/IP LAN’s (VLAN routing, VTP, Spanning Tree)
Administering large-scale and complex WAN networks
Troubleshooting skills in Cisco Routers and Cisco Pix
Diagnosing network problems and maintaining network security

To be successful in the role, you must have strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, networks – routers, L2 and L3 switches, gateways and networking servers. A familiarity with Cisco networking products is essential. Experience in HP ITO and HP Openview, HP Procurve switches and knowledge of encryption and Virtual Private Networks would be a distinct advantage.

Our ideal candidate will:

Hold a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or management information systems
Possess a minimum of 3 years experience in IT operations
Hold Cisco Certification to at least Network Associate (CCNA) level
Have an excellent understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Infrastructure Libraries (ITIL) processes.
If you are not Cisco certified, but have the desired experience and technical skills your application will also be considered.

This is a high-paced customer service environment, you must be used to working under pressure and be able to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and have excellent problem analysis and management ability.

Fluency in English is essential, as is your willingness to work shift arrangements.
