Oracle Database Administrator (Senior)

Responsibilities:
Work in the Enterprise Application Database Service Group. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for administering and managing Oracle and SQL Server database servers supporting the ACAM, EDI, PeopleSoft, Siebel and I2 applications. This will involve:

Ø The installation and maintenance of the database servers and applications

Ø The creation of database storage structures per application requirements

Ø The creation of database objects (tables, views, indexes) per application requirements

Ø DB security via user and role access rights

Ø Ensure compliance with the vendor license agreements

Ø Monitoring and optimizing DB performance

Ø Plan and setup DB backup and recovery procedures

Ø Documentation of DBA processes and procedures unique to Altera

Ø Redwood Administration (installation, patching, scheduling, etc)

Ø Redwood Operational support (e.g. monitoring of jobs, receiving alerts, etc).

In addition, the successful candidate will be involved in the administration of the ACAM, EDI, PeopleSoft, Siebel and I2 applications per operational procedures.
Requirements:
Ø Candidates must have strong technical and hands-on experience with the Oracle8i/9i/10g and SQL Server v7/2000 RDBMS systems including DB setup, configuration and optimization

Ø Candidates should also have hands-on experience with UNIX (Solaris), K-shell programming and Windows servers.

Ø Certifications for Oracle (OCP DBA) and SQL Server (MCDBA) a plus

Ø Basic requirements are: good verbal and written communication skills, good analytical skills, good team player, fast-learner, flexible, dependable and has a desire to acquire new technical skills

Ø Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
