unit trust... looong term and not guaranteed.. most of the time just break even
fix deposit... inflation rate is higher than than interest rate
stock market.... no use.. too little $$ to invest and high risk...

i say use the little 5k to invest in your knowledge and skills like books, seminars, workshops, technical and vocational training, etc.. bla bla bla....

every single investment into your intellectual growth will eventually transform to your success capital... if you use it wisely tat is...

Hi, interesting topic. Let's see whether you would like to consider this or not.

Success University is unique in all the world... It is both a LEARNING opportunity and an INCOME opportunity. They are the first company to ever allow people like you and I to profit from the Multi-Billion Dollar personal development industry!

When you're looking into ways to increase your income... I recommend you have the following questions in mind:

1. Is this a good company?

2. Do they offer a good product with tremendous value?

3. Do they have a compensation plan that really makes sense
and pays out an above average income?

4. Do I have to stock Inventory?

5. Will they help me do what I need to do to be successful?

6. Will I have a coach... a mentor... someone to help me achieve
success?

7. Can I trust this organization to be everything I want it to
be?

If you'd like to see how Success University stacks up, please visit my website

It's just plain smart to build a passive income that is LARGER than your monthly expenses. Who wants to wear out their whole life working for someone else? Success University is all about discovering what you can and should do to achieve every dream and goal you've ever had.

If you're looking for the absolute BEST support, coaching, and even friendship... you won't find ANYONE better to work with than me.
It all starts with taking two minutes to lock in your position in the company... as one of the 5000 Founding Member Leaders.

Just take time to explore...............

I fully agree with what you said... knowledge is the best return. may bring even more if you use it properly...

with 5K, i can get either MCSE or CCNA cert already... after that...can bargian with my boss for increase salary..

According to the standard, approximate increase RM300 to 400 each cert... not much, better then nothing... after 2 year can cover the cost, but the cert is still in my hand... plus experience too

Don't touch anything that you don't familiar. like MLM or any cepat kaya scheme. If you know nothing about investment mean you need someone to help you. My suggestion is unit trust. Your money manage/invest by professor/qualified consultant. Don't think about fixed deposit, is just too slow compare to inflation. And also don't go for stock market if you no knowledge about it. If you want to try then maybe you can test the water or your skill at bursapursuit.com.

yaya..sometimes it depend on your risky..

if u want money...with more safer method..just invest in ASB...but maybe u can...rm4000 to asb....rm1000 to UT.

UT more safer than invest in stock.yeah...stock can give u more money in short term but it also can make u lost a lot.u must be more experience and have a full comitment to monitor the stock oso.

if u want to invest in UT...find a good agent that can guide u...not just get the "komisen" then cabut...

for me....rm4000 asb...then topup rm300 monthly...rm1000 go to UT...then topup monthly...

just my 2cents

Maybe you got your point there. But I think ROI for ASN is just a little higher than fixed deposit (7-9% / year). correct me if I am wrong. I got my money invest in unit trust for 2 years now and got 35% of return and the rate can be more higher if not include new fund that I topup every month. Maybe up to 50% in just 2 years. BTW, another high risk fund that I bought last 2 months already have 25%. There is no investment that is guarantee of return and no risk.

Hi goolie.. how fast you want your return actually?.. ASB, unit trust.. is not a short term investment.. afterall RM5000 is so small.. ASB payout is about 6.25% only provided you keep it there for a year. ASB and unit Trust sama jer.. it just ASB is a close ended, means you buy RM1 and sell it at RM1, it just they pay you dividend. Whereas Unit Trust is an open ended.. you can buy today at RM1 and sell it way below the inital price, the movement is rather slow...

What if I suggest, if you really want to make money.. use your RM5000 in learning how to make money. First get your Unit Trust Agent licence with FMUTM - take the exam and after that join as an agent with any fund. The most picking up Fund is CIMB. From there you can catch all those eagles or rich people with bunchful of money to invest with you and earn commisyen.

This is the way to make money if you're not interested in any other businessess like MLM, Online or Internet Biz.

i thnk that it can return some good feedback within 3 years then should be considered ok..

first of all, i thnk that we got to understand what is our risk appetite, term of ur investment and objective (wedding, education, extra funds).

for normal ppl with timid heart, they can go into FD or ASN if their risk appetite is on the low side. they can also try fixed income unit trust (ie bond funds).

if their appetite is moderate then can go for equity funds. dun recommend any UT funds that has foreign exchange element and REITS. i think liquidity is one of the concern i think.

if their appetite is slighter higher than moderate then can go into ETFs. they are very new in malaysia but worth a look. its like UT only they are open end funds which are tag / linked to the market index.

if their balls r bigger. directly invest into the stock market. they can either put money on speculative shares (high return high risk) or blue chip shares n benefit from the high dividend pay outs...

thats all is my advise only...pls dun follow my step buta-buta...
