Thread: Streamyx at a slow crawl

These couple of days Streamyx is crawling at the speed of a tortoise when accessing international sites (BM, Penang)

Local sites load normally.... oversea sites just won't load or load slower than dial-up. Can't even connect to MSN or update AVG virus pattern ............... anyone else facing the same problem?

With all the downtime and we still pay the same amount every month...... this sucks!!!

If this goes on we should start a mass campaign where all webmasters and bloggers link to this site http://www.streamyxsucks.com using the anchor text "Streamyx" hahahaha ............ so when ppl search for "Streamyx", search engines will return streamyxsucks.com as the first result (not sure if link bombing still work tho?) ......................okok, just joking

Btw, i do not know who runs the http://www.streamyxsucks.com site.

Now that is too severe, well i am able to browse and do stuff normally so far...
at least i learned to appreciate Streamyx a lil bit compared to my hostel's connection~
but all in all..Streamyx is still a crap so far~

Forget about the link bombing .... streamyxsucks.com is already in the first results page with the keyword "streamyx" ..........

They should [seriously] do something about their quality...

Many sites in US servers cannot be reached in Malaysia right this moment. Like as if an earthquake happened and the cable got cut off!!!!

Oh, so there're others facing the same situation ... it's already the third day for me

Yea, Coolio, almost like the time when the underwater cables were destroyed by a quake in Taiwan last year. But a little difference is the oversea connection is normal at my office (using company lease line -- probably different servers from Streamyx)

Streamyx service continues to get worse as more and more subscibers join as they have failed to put in a fibre optic backbone between telephone eXchanges.

I moved her from Cyprus some year ago and there the ISP would not offer broadband to areas on t on a fibre optic backbone. However the speed when connected was what you paid for. Even 56K dialup always operated at at least 54K.

Here in Sabah I have a 1 Meg connection and it usually onlu operates at about 630. StreamyX service standards are that I should be getting 750, so my question is why should I pay for 1M with a 25% loss, if they can only guarantee 750 then that is all they should charge for.... but I am not even getting that.

Most of my business is with the USA and I use a lot of Conference rooms but it is getting more and more difficult to work

The other day, it was reported in the news that Google wanted to have more presence in Malaysia. Eric Schimdt actually had talks with Abdullah Badawi.I think that is good news.

Now the bad news:

If only they know what kind of ISP we Malaysians have been putting up with, and tolerating all this while. I bet Abdullah never told Eric Schimdt about our infamous ISP.

TM Net just make small bits improvement here and there, and they want us to think its a big deal....

P.S: Just now internet to USA was cut off again...now back again...now off again...

Yea, heard about that too. But, around this region, Google already has sales/engineering offices in Singapore and Australia. Maybe the Eric chap was just being polite to our PM..... we'll just wait and see

Btw, my connection is ok.. since Sunday.

Google might cancel the deal if streamyx still like this!!!.. then end up with new singapore deal !!!!

i think.. pak lah oso dont know ho to connect to streamyx, and he had no idea what streamyx is.... B)

If he know the Tmnet streamyx iss CRAP and SCUKS like this.. he will swearing like me too...
