Depends what your issue is. Where I live, the phone was cut off every 2 or 3 months for a couple of days, ADSL for 4 or 5 days each time. Doesn't matter who you pay for ADSL (if that's why you mention Jaring) if the local technician is milking his cows in the exchange - the equipment will be broken anyway. I wanted to pay Jaring for ADSL because I like what Mohamed Awang Lah has to say about the Internet in Malaysia:

Since the local equipment is destroyed on a monthly basis here, there is no point in paying anybody for wired broadband, so I cancelled it. I changed to DiGi EDGE, just because I used GPRS on my old handphone whenever Dribblyx was down, and it always just worked, even if it was slow. I've been using EDGE for a month now, and I like it:

Is it because of that submarine cable got cut? Something tells me this may not be not an accident...

Happened too many times already.

I wonder when the line is going to be restored. It's terrible if everytime one miserable cable gets cut, and the whole region is cut off.

I gave up on Streamyx and use DiGi EDGE now, but the last few weeks my 'speed test' downloads (from Brazil and Taiwan) have been running at around half-speed.

someone in there makes the point that the faults are a frequent occurrence, and it's only because some countries have fewer links (less redundancy) that cuts are such a problem.
