both are the same service, xcept for hotspot it is running on wi-fi technology - wireless broadband.

just add another RM8.00 per month, if you are streamyx subscirber, and buy a wireless network card (802.11b WLAN card), configure the card and you are ready to go!

because it is wiFi, so it is located within coverage area only.

Not really... A hotspot, like DingDang said, is basically an area or a spot where you can access the internet via Wi-Fi technology. Some hotspots require you to have a subscription, and some don't. For example, go to coffee bean or any of those coffee houses with a Wi-Fi device and you can connect to the internet within the shop.

Currently, TMNet is charging Streamyx user additional RM10/month for the Hotspot service. Please visit this link for more information on the hotspots:
http://isp.tm.net.my/hotspot/Service.shtml

There are some other WiFi providers, such as:
Maxis - http://www.maxis.com.my/corporate/da.../wlan_main.asp
Airzed - http://www.airzed.com
Zapzone - http://www.zapzone.com.my/index.cfm

You may visit Starbucks Mont Kiara to try out the WiFi connection. I just came back from that place. But of course, don't expect to get stable connection if you see there are lots of people with their laptop over there.

Good luck!
