hi..

last week someone approached me to design his company's website. They had been around for business quite long and succeed and now trying to have their own website .

I do have my own website (at geocities) and i did have some knowledge about html and how to manipulate all the free scripts available through the net. But, i know my limitation is on the creative design (i know i can still get free template somewhere). I also done research on webhosting and domain names, database integration ..

does anyone can help me on this., i need some advice/guideline for anyone who are into this business especially freelance webdesigner coz i really dont know where to start.. how to quote the price, legislation, applying websoting @ domain, maintainence for the website, documentations,..

study completely HTML and CSS.

then upgrade ur skill and knowledge in graphic design sware.
+ flash or animations sware.

+ study web programing language

then.. build a website that can impressing the visitor.

compile all portfolio (i didn't complete mine too )

ready to the freelance world..

Additional thing to mention.
- Not only know to develope a web.. but also need a bussines skills.
- Not every work should be paid. It a risk on freelancer dont get payment..
- Bla bla.. experience.. live and learn frenn

thanks for the advice.

Actually i am not planning to make it as a business, just for side
income, fun and part of gaining knowledge of the mysterious IT world.

anyway, right now i had started collecting resources for the website. Since the company owner is not so cerewet, hope he dont mind about all those flash and animation. But, i will learn that too. I do have flash software but it seems quite hard to learn and manipulate its capability( maybe coz i am not creative).
I heard about swish that can do flash animation easier. Is it correct?

One more thing, if i purchase a webhosting that use Cpanel (that one is for Linux right?- correct me if i am wrong), do i need to install Linux in my computer? If yes, what will happen to my Windows.. Sorry if this question sound stupid, but i really need to know about it.. Malas bertanya sesat jalan..

to be a flash master.. at least a fgood flash design..
just ignore the swish.. because.. swish issss sucks.
big file size bla bla bla..

just study the flash start from the basic..
do not download free *.fla then modified like others lame did.

study the basic first.. you'll love it!..

ask in flash forum if you need help. i will try to help..

memang try khatam HTML, sambil tu baca buku lain jugak.. so, semua i try to absorb.. tu yg lambat tu.

i tanya pasal cpanel nie sebab dulu i ada try download demo kat hosting mesra.net, tapi bila bukak tak boleh run.. ingatkan sebab OS.. memang i tak tau menahu bab benda-benda nie.. kat geocities mana ada panel-panel nie...

cpanel untuk linux hosting aje.. tak perlu nak download & install kat pc..

lg pon nak buat ape guna cpanel kat pc.. kalo nak buat web.. takde kene mengena dgn cpanel..
