Hi,

My friend just develop a new program and release it on my site. But visitors who download the programs claim that the program contain a trojan/spyware name iStealth. Could someone here who know programming check the source code that he give to me and check whether its had any trojan/spyware in it. I'm really need your help to clean out my friends name and my site

If you need others to help you check to source code, it is easier if you post a link to download the source code.

I see NO REASON to include a spyware in order for a program to work. It sound unreasonable to me. Perhaps your friend got part of the code from somewhere else?

Some info about iStealth:
I think you should take down the download link before you are sure the file is safe.

If anyone need the source code, please email me, I can't just distribute it freely though because of my respect to the author who didn't want the code to be distribute without his concern

oh. he use VB.

In my opinion, he should avoid to use the mbshspy.ocx. He can has other alternative that function the same but safe.

Maybe he doesn't mean bad, but since the program has the "power"(as he said in the forum thread) then then program might has the "risk".

Either he re-write the program without mbshspy.ocx, or you provide download link with a warning note and link to the forum thread you showed here.

Else, you need a VB guru who is willing to email you to request the source code, download it, review it and tell you the result at FOC.

Hmmm, is there any such VB guru here? Right now I'm really need to know whether the program is safe or not. I already put a cautions under the download link on my site, but then this program is a very useful and hard to program. Putting such a warning migh demotivate the developer.
