Satellite Broadband

Anyone here have any info about Satellite Broadband because I plan to use it next month. Right now, I know that www.smartmalaysia.com and Time offer this service but not much info I can get from their website like how to setup and how much cost involve.

they are usually expensive comparing with cable/wireless broadband, not worth it unless you are residing in rural area where there's no cable/wireless broadband available.

yes, I will move to rural area next month. No broadband access at that area. So I have no choice. Internet connection is very important to me

I'd considered 3g too, but unfortunately its not available. From what kawan inform me, the installation cost is RM400 and monthly fees is RM350.

Nope. The RM400 and RM350 is for satellite connection (best effort basis). Click the link in my post #2 of this thread.

If I'm not mistaken, VCN services are based on Smart Malaysia's broadband offering

since the satellite dish provides two way communications instead of one way (like satellite tv) do we need some kind of license to install it? if it's needed, do their package include handling the license?

i just checked smart malaysia's order page, other than the 400 installation fee, you will have to pay for equipment leasing for 24 months (you don't get to own them? =\ ), RM2800 for one time payment and RM130 for montly payment.
