i think someone got access into my gmail account and deleted my emails.

how can i know for sure?

anyone have any ideas?

Did you just 'archived' your email instead of delete it? ( You can view it under "All Mails" ).

Ermm. gmail had a secure login page (https) so that's mean hard to hack..
so there's only 2 way. 1 , your password leaked. 2, you forgot to logout when using public pc.
