A new type of forum/message board - based on voice!

Here's a cool idea. A forum that purely based on voice: Chinswing

Chinswing is a global message board where anyone can add voice messages to ongoing topical discussions. Share your personal interests or hobbies, debate hot issues or find answers to questions. We've combined features of podcasting, text forums and live voice chat to create a whole new way to talk. We call it "step-talking".

Tried it on a few topic and surprisingly, it's really nice, feel more personal, fast loading and most important, it's cool

Nevertheless, the issue of search engine unfriendliness would not be overlook (unless google will develop some voice-recognition technology to index pages )

What do you all think? Is this the 'future' of message board? or, is just a bust.

definitely a step forward. i came across a couple of blogs yesterday that has voice enabled comment system. It's really cool, instead of writing into the shoutbox, you can now literally shout.

Have one better idea, in future, not just using voices to reply, but using video to reply that we can see members in action! but video file size is very big , however when broadband is really very broad in future, it become smoothly feasible.

And also, perhaps the forum might become the 3D virtual world with realistic 3D animated avatars (movable figures) representing members to reply/response.

Imagine that the avatar (representing a member) walks around and open/knock the door (representing the section).

its definitely a cool thing..

however from the economical side of it... i think this kinda voice msg board will take a huge bandwidth and storage space... huge bandwidth + huge storage = huge investment. unless one have the resources to backup and huge advertisers acc to generate income from it.

emm..... just wondering how the the admins there filters spam voice ads and some of the universal language like "F*** U ".. i guess they need to listen to all the recording 24hrs a day....

Yup. Traditionally, text values are fixed - directly/easily/obviously detected.

Voice/Video are not fixed, further incorporating the digital signal noises and their byte shapes are very variant.

They can be interesting and difficult titles for students writing their thesis or whoever writing white papers.
