i like the old microsoft site. this is so "new" to me

very cool, their design looks so convivial to me. really creative. btw, mystic, is there any better way to make web design with gradient bground like that? I've tried but always failed. maybe my steps are wrong.

New Microsoft developement have a look like a fresh washed face.

I just found the other day their search facility and bookmarking engine and the same, colors that seems gone after washing.
