UPS or lightning protection?

just been wondering, anybody using UPS and lightning protection for their pc currently?

if so, what brand u are using and wat's the price? is it good? wanna survey a bit coz plan to get 1 also ler

I've been using Power Kinetic (PK) Blackout Buster UPS for some time now. Used to cost about RM350 many years ago. Not sure of the latest prices.

I used to use lightning protector for modem, but after replacing 3 of them, I now just pull out the phone line. That is the safest way I found so far.

I got a UPS free when i purchase my pc. its very good to have a UPS cos aU wont lose a thing in case of power surge. even when playing games also still have time to save it mah

lightning protector ar ? just try not to use the pc when its raining and cabut the phone line. thats the best protection and its free. chances that the lightning protector would also burn when lightning strikes.

err.... isn't it nowaday they are 2-in-1 kind of thing.... need 2 buy separately ar??

by the way... is lightning protector only meant for phone line??

there are protector for the electricity and lightning protector for the modem phone line. you may need to buy both if you want both of them protected.

then again... most of the ups today are come with Spike, Surge and Lightning Protection, and protect tel line also... ..... so don't waste so much money on these redundant lightning protection....

by the way... for electricity... the main electricity fues already protecting your electrical current at the first place.... it will trip when theres a current spike or surge...

as for extra protection of phone line.... just don't use it when it rains will do loh....

well, actually for me everytime i always off the modem and pull out the phone cable whenever it rains or when u felt storms(x-men?) is coming..the reason y i would like to get a ups is bcoz of protection for the pc, coz it hurts the pc a lot if there's a sudden blackout, and laso wiring safe place coz 1 ups can accomodate both the power for the monitors and cpu

yalor, you should go look for a UPS la. never lose a moment of your pc. you know lah, TNB owez wanna raise the electricity price but not its service. blackout is often in this country

I just have a circuit breaker on the power strip. If the power goes down then it's time for a cup of coffee (on the gas stove not the kettle of course)!
