Off-the-shelf e-commerce system means the ready made e-commerce system. Apply some configuration/modification/customisation on it to be the own self-custom e-commerce.

I see, only PayPal at the moment eh, why not have other methods of payment? would be better to have options for ur customers

I meant the ecommerce software systems that are ready made like the ones from Neowave, Netbuilder.com.my etc.

Anyway, it's just the start... the real hard work begins after the site is online... so you have to really work on it's ranking, getting links etc. And if you want to exchange links, let me know ... well, even if u don hv page rank info yet, i'll link to u ... just bcos u r a penangite

And yea, you did mention about a traffic exchange service on another thread .. did you get any orders from there? I think most of the ppl using that service is only trying to promote their own business and they surf just to gain credit, they are not really potential customers ... just my opinion If you do get orders from the traffic exchange members, do let us know.

And if you intend to use Adsense later on... DON'T use traffic/hit exchange services ... Google doesn't seem to like it (forgotten where i got the info tho)

- must be great design- your site look amateur
- must have your own merchant account/credit card processing
- online customer service that can guide customer
- BBBOnline reliability program
- Hackers Safe

Come on, that's kinda harsh. I'm not going to be too optimistic too... not bcos of what they "don't have" .. it's bcos of the more established competitors around. But they still deserve a chance to give it a go!

As I told you b4, I can run a ecommerce site for almost zero expenses... so, I will not be afraid of competition. If you hire designers or hv other expenses then be extra careful.

Btw, I think you just need a stronger USP... something unique or different that your competitors don have or can't offer .. some benefit that your customers can easily associate with you .. a unique position of ur own.
