I quite agree with you... but please bear in mind that a professional jury must not have bias opinion to judge the best photo. A person who has no interest whatsoever towards the photos being contested.

A voting process would surely involve "politicking" as this is a democratic environment. If you want your photo to win, you have to "pancing undi", no matter whatever method being used, people will use it to get more votes.

This is just my humble opinion.

haha, people are always like that, whenever something is initially suggested everyone thinks its fair, but when at the end of the day, when the results are not as they hoped it to be they will start saying its not fair and so on, yes its true, a voting environment will involve politicking, and some of you may think its not fair, but since when was voting fair?

Instead if it was initially decided to have a vote for the winner but in the end it is changed to just a panel of judges decision, would that be fair? How can we determine that the judges decision is fair? Even if it was fair, was it fair to have the vote open for two weeks and have everyone working so hard to get votes?

It's like I'm saying I hire you to do this job for X amount of money but after two weeks I think the amount I'm paying is not fair for the amount of work you have done, do you think that is fair? If it was decided from the start that the winners would be determined through votes then stick to it, if not, let a panel of judges determine the winners from the start, and I'm sure there will still be people who will complain that its not fair. So to be fair here, I think it is best not to change what has been decided from the start.

It's just my humble opinion, I'm not biased towards any of the entries and I'm not one of the participants either. So don't get me wrong on my opinion here, rules decided and agreed upon, then play by the rules, can we change the rules of football or any game for that matter half way through the game? Think about it. It's just common logic.
