I do not think I have the time to do the promotion. Others may help in that field. The efforts would be contribution by everyone or better known as team work. There will be breadown of task and the burden would be much lighter.... What to the rest say?

Ask some web products companies to adv here such as norton, mcfee, microsoft, IBM, Mesiniaga, patimas, ..... that sell in malaysia. Try to send someone personally/formal letter for request on sponsor/adv to make money.

To find a sponsor, you need to present the goodwill of your site and future of the web site.

It's residual, and commissions are not bad, 6-12% and up to USD100 (RM380) bounty per select service. It's not that hard to get US clients actually! But like I said, some online effort (I can teach you guys the tricks, and you'll get tons of US customers).

Or kalau korang boleh tolong aku cari clients for webhosting (RM200/year package for 50MB space, 1GB monthly bandwidth with php, mysql and stuffs), I can say pass RM50 for each account to WM (25% discount), every year.

2nd buatlah demo di mana iklan akan dipaparkan.. Advertiser mesti nak orang nampak iklan dier. So cadangkan kat ruang paling atas sekali.

Buat duit cara lain, ialah dengan menjual sijil. Ohh... mula² korang buatlah Anugerah Website Webmaster Malaysia macam http://www.cari.com.my atau http://www.iawmd.com buat. So yang menang Award boleh minta (beli) sijil dari korang. Juallah dalam RM 25, tapi Sijil tu mestila Pro punyer, jangan main print jer, nanti orang ingat tak laku.

Masa pertandingan korang bagi markah betul-betul. Jangan bagi ramai sangat yang menang. Jangan sebab nak $$$$ korang bagi award kat semua. Laa takyah ada majlis yang gempak... Korang gempakkan/meriahkan award tu dalam website korang.

IMHO, seeking for a sponsorship require a detail and more mature business strategic plan. Here are some of my suggestion on measures that should be taken to ease your financial problem. I will use web design as an example.

1. Since webmastermalaysia is a place for most newcomer in web/graphic design & programmer then an idea of grouping these webmaster wannabe is vital. Always search for a young talent as this is one of your precious assets and supporters in the future. So, why is this so important? Refer no. 2.

2. When you can gather these newcomers than accidentally, you had increase your sites popularity, names and most important of all - humanpower. I refer the newbies as crucial humanpower because this is where they come in handy as you begin to approach the company for their money.

3. Never ask what the sponsors can give to you but ask what the company can gain from you. This mean, create a win-win situation. A good eg, is by offering your services in web designing, programming and etc. Other than that, you can give a free consultation/opinion on how to improve their website and so on. If that is still not enough, than you can even offer to train their staff to things that related to the Internet based on your knowledge and experience. (The possibilities are endless, so I'm going to let you figure it out on what you can do for them by yourself).

4. Once you can convince your sponsor of all the benefits that they can't resist, then you can start distributing the work (eg; web design) to the newcomers. This is no longer a problem since your had accumulated enough humanpower(your visitor) to handle the workload. When I mention "distributing", this mean that you can't just ask them to do the job for you. Transform the job into competition where the best design that the sponsors like for their company will be chosen as the winners. For those who weren't good enough, never let them down, as you can always gave your profesional opinion about their design and tips to improve their skills.

5. When all of this can be achieve, then whether you realize it or not, you had make everyone happy. The visitor happy because they finally get a chance to show off their talent, the sponsor happy because they got their dreamsite (and not to forget, they even got a couple of cool design to choose from), and the most important of all, you will be the happiest man on earth because you finally got a sponsor.


Of course this is just my opinion and feel free to challenge it as I'm always looking forward to broaden my knowledge horizon. And hey, good luck on your quest!
