Will google adword increase traffic?

Will google adword actually increase your USEFULL traffic?

Don't use google adwords if you cannot get back your investment. Yes it will increase your traffic but also increase your operating cost.

If you paid $100 for Adwords to get $2000 revenue, than is ok to continue with Google Adwords.

Nope, PR depending on your link popularity or how much site has link point to your site. Last time Google update PR once a month, now they have change it to quarter per year.

Let's say you pay $0.50 per click. And you only get one sale after 100 click. So your adwords cost is $50.00. One sale, you manage to get $30.00 profit.

You spend $50.00 to get $30.00. You lose $20.00.

But if you spend $50.00 and you get $500.00 in profit, that's better.

So better spend your money wisely. You also need to learn how to make your ads clickable and targetted to the right visitors.

That's long way to learn.

For sure it will increase traffic(highly targeted traffic), but in terms of sales, it really depend.

Hello jawa,

How about if I am looking for "links" submission to my directory and "visitors"? Do you think Google Adwords will help? Another, my affiliate links and adsense are placing on my site as well.

you mean, you want to advertise in Google adwords and hope your visitors to submit their link in your site, and you can make money through Adsense.

I think that's not a better strategy, because Adsense commission is not big enough to cover your Adwords cost.

I give an example about my experience using Adwords. As you know, I'm only using adwords promoting affiliate program that pay 25.00 pound per sale. Currently I managed to get 3 sale and get 75.00 pound sterling (UK currency). My Adwords cost is about RM 400.00 and managed to get 2105 clicks that cost me RM0.19 per click..

75.00 pound convert to RM is about RM 525.00.

I'm only get RM 125.00 in profit, so I stop promoting this affiliate program cause this merchant cannot sell.

Adwords can increase your traffic but your cost also need to be consider..

My suggestion :

- exchange link with other site
- wait until your page rank is higher

from my personal experience, google is the best tools for exposing your company to the targeted audience.

without google, not body know my site and no visitor = no income

yes, malaysia is my targeted audience. visitor is increase so advertising expenses.

my purpose is to market my brand to the audience and it works very well. i also can bring some incomes to my business and i very appreiate adwords.

i try banner exchange, submit url but the effect is not fast as adwords.

thinks again what is your main objective for adwords then you decide yourself.

Here's a plan that you can use. Let say that you have a product priced at $100 and you have a $50 gross profit margin. Or you enroll into an affiliate program that offers a commission of $50 per sale.

In either of those cases, you have $50 to play around with.

Set aside $25 as your advertising budget. And then divide that by 100 - for 100 clicks. That will give you $0.25 per click. You are actually budgeting half of your potential earning as advertising cost. So in even of one sale after 100 clicks at $0.25 per click, you still have another $25 as profit.

Now, when you create your Adwords campaign, try to set not more than $0.25 as your maximum cost per click. Let the campaign run until you have 100 clicks. You should able to estimate this by looking at your estimated clicks per day.

When you have reached 100 clicks -- look into the sales generated from your own website or your affiliate program. If your adwords campaign is targeting the right crowd and the sales page is powerful, you should be able to see some sales.

But if it doesn't -- now, there's something to do.

First -- pause the campaign

-- If you are promoting an affiliate program, stop promoting it.

-- If you are promoting your own product, improve the sales page.

I do this test for new products / affiliate programs I promote. Most of the times, I just set the maximum cost per click to $0.10 and the actual will be around $0.06 or $0.07. So with 100 clicks, I am spending about $7.00 -- fair price to test the sales page.

If you're calculating advertisement expenses vs sales income; you must be selling ais kacang. (no offense)

It might increase your traffic but sales is unpredictable. Worth it or not; you're spending for traffic aka 'buying' traffic.

You have higher sales chances if more visitors are coming in better than keeping it a secret

Of course, your hits will increase with adwords but Amount of sales is unpredictable.
It may also due to your site design, how you package your product, the image and the price too and all the marketing factor!

Ppl will will click at it and may not buy due to the marketing mix reason too. Eg. RM2.00 per month for hosting package. After ppl click at it and found that they need to pay this and that extra.

If you really want to try adwords, I think you should get your site to be more prepared to capture the buyer.

For my point of view, adwords is more to Publicity than sales.
And both of this are linked. Publicity comes before sales.
