I have recently launched http://www.MalaysianSpace.com and now I am on to another challenge of bringing actual traffic to fill up the site.

What methods of advertising do you suggest?

So far I have got a few hundred uniques but the site definately needs a lot more to get kicked off.

Do you have any suggestions? I am also ready to spend some money (not much) on advertising, just need to know a good source of traffic that will stick around on the site.

I'd suggest there few methods to boost the traffic on your site and make it a success. But before that, it all depend on how much time, effort and money you are willing to invest:

Money wise, I'd suggest offline-advertising works best. Print flyer, radio advertising, press advertising. Package and brand your site well, including the brand name and soon you will be on the highway.

Time and effort wise, find out where the malaysians hang out on the internet often. Lowyat, Bincang, MyPDAcafe, Cari are few large forums I know. Get into the community and push your site there. The important thing is, don't be the person that been take as somebody that only tries to sell somethingn to the forum, always involve in the community first.

Other method would be PPC like adwords, but I would not suggest it because the 'dating market' is too highly saturated, which would drive up your cost way too much. Or, you could spend some money to buy advertising banner from some of the malaysian traffic site (such as jiwang.org).
