The last time I check, Maxis 3G is 384kbps max and Maxis 3.5G is 7??kbps.

The Maxis HSDPA network now supports download speed up to 3.6Mbps??

And by the way, there is a data usage LIMIT ... about 3GB a month i think......... there still is a limit?

And also need to sign a contract (can't rmb 1 or 2 years) ... right?

mysticmind,
You can use it only in areas with strong 3G or 3.5G signal (else the modem will automatically drop to EDGE or GPRS ... painfully slow)

I tested the modem a few months ago, my house area has FULL 3G coverage so the speed was kinda ok (download speed was abt 384kbps most of the time). I wasn't able to test the higher speeds bcos maybe my area has no HSDPA or maybe the test set only allows 3G 384kbps max

But the contract and the data limit kinda put me off.

don so happy if you get the good speed at your area...

once more and more people use this at ur area, the speed will drop like hell...

I encounter before this, i am maxis BB user...

For portable, you may choose this, but if you did not carry out the modem, advice to take slowmyx better

I rate the service below average... due to the service are poor, same to their technical call center...

If u compare these 2 provider till death no good solution to user. Anyway up 2 u which suit to ur pocket, the speed mentioned depends on traffic. like HSDPA cover in most big city like KL, Subang Jaya etc...check ur coverage n term before sign up...Malaysia is still too slow in speed...........

gosh 1.5 year contract... thats long.. why don't you try izzi wireless network instead.
izzi required to pay full 1 year but you can apply 12mths interest free instalment via cc... they allow 3, 6, 9 mth refund if you cut them off in between..
